Man’s body found in Willamette River near Salem

DALLAS, Ore. (AP) — The Polk County sheriff’s office says it’s checking missing persons cases as it tries to identify the body of a man found in the Willamette River.

The body was found about 6 p.m. Sunday by a boater, along a flooded tree line about a half-mile northeast of the Salem Yacht Club.

The dead man appeared to be in his 20s.
