VILNIUS, Lithuania (AP) — European marathon champion Zivile Balciunaite of Lithuania has lost her appeal of a two-year doping ban, ruling her out of the London Olympics.

The Lithuanian Athletics Federation says the decision was made at the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne, Switzerland.

The ban was imposed in 2010 and lasts until Sept. 6, several weeks after the Olympics end. Balciunaite has denied the doping charges, contending the test results may have been influenced by a prescription drug from her gynecologist.
