AUBURN, Ala. (AP) — Auburn has hired Georgetown women’s basketball coach Terri Williams-Flournoy.

Williams-Flournoy spent eight seasons as the Hoyas’ head coach, leading them to the past three NCAA tournaments. Auburn athletic director Jay Jacobs said Monday that she’ll replace Nell Fortner, who resigned after the season.

She will be formally introduced in Auburn on Tuesday.

Williams-Flournoy has led Georgetown to the program’s most successful four-year run, going 93-41 during that span. The Hoyas are coming off a 23-9 season when they made it to the second round of the NCAA tournament.

Williams-Flournoy is a former assistant with Georgetown, Georgia and Southwest Missouri State, now Missouri State.

The Tigers haven’t been back to the NCAA tournament since winning their first regular season Southeastern Conference title in 20 years in 2008-09
