WACO, Texas (AP) — Some 2,000 people have turned out to welcome home the NCAA champion Baylor women’s basketball team.

The crowd is inside the Ferrell Center in Waco, Texas. The Lady Bears beat Notre Dame 80-61 on Tuesday night to cap a 40-0 season, the first in NCAA history.

Baylor athletics is on a great run and school President Ken Starr referred to that. Quarterback Robert Griffin III won the Heisman Trophy last season, and now the women’s basketball program has its second national title.
