A 20-year-old local man was badly beaten Tuesday night after he walked in Fisher’s Landing while wearing red and was noticed by two men and a 15-year-old boy wearing blue, police said.

The gang-style attack will be investigated by gang detectives, said Sgt. Mike Chylack with the Vancouver Police Department.

Tim Lanphar, 20, had been walking home along Southeast 164th Avenue near First Street when he saw the three near a car.

They exchanged unfriendly words and the three in blue attacked, punching Lanphar and kicking him while he was on the ground, Chylack said.

Taking Lanphar’s iPod and groceries, the three fled, ditching the car at a nearby apartment complex.

Police quickly captured three people and took them to the Clark County Jail on suspicion of first-degree robbery. The 15-year-old’s name was not released but the other two are listed as Juan Campos, 19, and Angel Campos, 18.

The three alleged assailants had no weapon, but the severity of the fist-and-foot attack makes it a first-degree crime, Chylack said.

Lanphar was in the PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center emergency room at 9:30 p.m.
