MONTESANO, Wash. (AP) — A 34-year-old man accused of attacking a sheriff’s deputy and stabbing a judge in the Grays Harbor County courthouse has been charged with attempted murder in the case.
The county prosecutor’s office on Wednesday filed charges of attempted second-degree murder against Steven Kravetz in the stabbing and shooting of Deputy Polly Davin and the stabbing of Superior Court Judge David Edwards on March 9.
Kravetz is accused of grabbing the deputy’s own gun in a struggle and shooting her with it. The judge has returned to work; the deputy is recovering from a gunshot wound to her shoulder.
The Daily World reports (http://is.gd/RBKGa5 ) that Kravetz is also charged with first-degree assault and disarming a law enforcement officer.
