SAN DIEGO (AP) — Reigning NL Cy Young Award winner Clayton Kershaw of the Los Angeles Dodgers has come out of the season opener against San Diego after three innings because of the flu.

Kershaw held the Padres scoreless on two hits while striking out three and walking one.
