LONDON (AP) — Chris Boardman says he will leave his position as British Cycling’s director of research and development after the London Olympics, depriving the country of the innovator behind much of its success in recent years.
The 1992 Olympic champion in the individual pursuit has played a vital role in developing equipment that helped Britain win eight gold medals at the Beijing Games in 2008 and should see the host nation dominate cycling events this summer.
