TACOMA, Wash. (AP) — The Pierce County prosecutor has charged three people accused of taking part in a home-invasion burglary at Puyallup where the homeowner killed one intruder.

Burglary, attempted robbery and assault charges were filed Friday against 19-year-old Malinda Knight, 29-year-old Kyle Anderson and 27-year-old Josh Baker.

A fourth suspect, 21-year-old Kevin Fernandes, died at a hospital after Wednesday’s shooting. Knight and Anderson are in custody. Baker is at large.

Charges will not be filed against the homeowner. The prosecutor says he acted in self-defense. He’s a retired police officer who told deputies he was awakened by the break-in and shot a man who came at him with a crowbar.
