NORTH BEND, Ore. (AP) — A Coast Guard helicopter crew has rescued a 65-year-old man whose kayak overturned at the entrance to the Salmon River near Otis, Ore.
The agency dispatched a helicopter Sunday after Lincoln City Fire and Rescue called to report a man was trapped on some rocks at the river entrance. A rescue swimmer was able to reach him.
The unidentified man was taken to Lincoln City Hospital to be treated for minor injuries and hypothermia.
