NEW YORK (AP) — After decades of making history, Herbie Hancock is ready to tell it.
The award-winning, groundbreaking jazz musician has a deal with Viking to write his memoir. Viking announced Tuesday that the book, currently untitled, is due in 2014.
Hancock, who turns 72 this week, is known for everything from his pioneering work with Miles Davis to the hit instrumental “Rockit.”
Financial terms for the book were not disclosed. Hancock was represented by Washington attorney Robert Barnett, whose clients range from President Obama to Barbra Streisand.
