INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — James Hinchcliffe and Sebastien Bourdais will be docked 10 starting spots at this weekend’s race, punishment for unapproved engine changes.

IndyCar announced the penalties Wednesday.

Series officials say Hinchcliffe changed his Chevy engine during a test last week at Infineon Raceway, and Bourdais changed his Lotus engine after the Alabama race April 1.

Hinchcliffe, last year’s rookie of the year, drives the No. 27 car for Michael Andretti. Bourdais drives the No. 7 car for Jay Penske.
