Police officer witnesses fatal stabbing in Yakima

YAKIMA, Wash. (AP) — A police officer witnessed a fatal stabbing in Yakima.

Police say the officer saw two men fighting in a street Tuesday afternoon. The officer chased a man who ran and arrested him in an alley. The 23-year-old suspect has been jailed

Other officers and medics gave the victim first aid on the sidewalk. The 32-year-old was taken to a hospital where he died of multiple stab wounds.

KAPP reports (http://is.gd/yKYRHP) this is the first homicide this year in Yakima.
