MIAMI (AP) — The end of Miami’s spring football slate confirmed what the Hurricanes have been saying for a while. They’re still a work in progress.

Mike James’ 5-yard run with 4:19 left provided the only touchdown of the game, lifting Orange to a 7-6 victory over Green in the Hurricanes’ annual spring game on Saturday.

Ryan Williams completed 15 of 27 passes for 169 yards, while Gray Crow was 12 for 21 for 95 yards. Both Williams and Crow were intercepted twice, part of a five-turnover day for the Hurricanes.

James rushed for 57 yards on 15 carries, while Eduardo Clements managed 51 yards on 12 carries for the Green side.

Miami was 6-6 last season, and still is awaiting sanctions from the NCAA over the extra-benefits scandal that remains under investigation.
