BOSTON (AP) — The Red Sox have called up outfielder Jason Repko and infielder Nate Spears from Triple-A Pawtucket.

They also optioned outfielder Che-suan Lin to Pawtucket and designated for assignment right-hander Michael Bowden and catcher Luis Exposito. Boston made the moves before Sunday’s game against the Tampa Bay Rays.

Repko, 31, started the game in center field and batted ninth. In 67 games with Minnesota last season, he hit .226 with two homers and 11 RBIs. In six seasons with the Twins and Los Angeles Dodgers, he hit .226 with 16 homers and 67 RBIs in 355 games.

Spears, 27, signed with Boston as a minor-league free agent in 2009. He is hitless in four major-league at bats, all with the Red Sox last year.
