PORT ANGELES, Wash. (AP) — A Washington state man whose Facebook page got the attention of authorities after he eluded police has been arrested.
The Port Angeles Police Department said officers found Travis A. Nicolaysen without incident on Monday after receiving a tip that he was hiding in a home there.
The 26-year-old has a long criminal history and was wanted for failing to check in with a community corrections officer. Early this month he evaded two foot chases and a dragnet that included a police dog, but he still took time to check his Facebook page.
One friend wrote on his page: “Cops all over you.” Nicolaysen responded: “ya got away thanks bro.”
Nicolaysen was booked into the Clallam County Jail on felony warrants. Police say additional charges are being considered.
