Both parties have been identified in a hit-and-run accident on Highway 99 that hospitalized a pedestrian.

Christopher J. Chavarria, 24, of Vancouver was in satisfactory condition Monday night at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center.

He was injured about 4:30 p.m. Saturday when he apparently cut across Highway 99 toward a C-Tran bus stop.

The vehicle that struck him was described as a southbound red truck. The driver did not stop. However, a man came to the sheriff’s office at 1 a.m. Monday and identified himself as the driver.

That man, Steven Flick, 49, of Vancouver was booked into the Clark County Jail on suspicion of felony hit-and-run driving. Deputies said they had impounded the damaged truck as evidence.
