Scioto CC to host 2016 US Senior Open

UPPER ARLINGTON, Ohio (AP) — Scioto Country Club, site of Bobby Jones’ win in the 1926 U.S. Open and host course for the 1931 Ryder Cup matches, will celebrate its centennial by holding the 2016 U.S. Senior Open championship.

Jack Nicklaus, who learned the game on the rolling Donald Ross-designed layout at Scioto, will be the tournament’s honorary chairman.

Scioto has also hosted the 1950 PGA Championship won by Chandler Harper, the 1968 U.S. Amateur won by Bruce Fleisher, and the 1986 Senior Open won by Dale Douglass.

The tournament will be held Aug. 11-14, 2016.
