NEW YORK (AP) — Fans can buy a stitch in the flag that American athletes will carry at the London Games’ opening ceremony as a fundraiser for the U.S. Olympic Committee.

The “Raise Our Flag” program was announced Wednesday during an event in Times Square marking 100 days until London.

Each stitch costs $12 and can be purchased at www.TeamUSA.org. The program runs through July 12.

The flag will be created by the seamstresses at Annin Flagmakers of Roseland, N.J. The company restored the 9/11 flag carried by American athletes in the opening ceremony of the Salt Lake 2002 Olympic Winter Games.
