A man wanted on weapons charges who was thought to be in a Camas home that was surrounded by police on Friday agreed to turn himself into police custody Monday.

Vancouver police made phone contact with Husam Z. Al-Ani, 22, on Monday. He agreed to turn himself in and was transported to the Clark County Jail, said Kim Kapp, police spokeswoman.

Al-Ani was thought to be in a house Friday night that was surrounded by Camas police, Washougal police, sheriff’s office deputies and regional SWAT units. Police took up positions around the home, had some neighbors evacuate and used loudspeakers to tried to contact Al-Ani inside the home. Police arrested Curtis D. Schmit, 24, on an unrelated misdemeanor warrant after the incident, but Al-Ani wasn’t found at the home.
