Greg Gonzales, who was appointed this week to the Clark County Superior Court bench, will be sworn in May 4 at the Clark County Courthouse.

Gonzales will take office May 1 and have his official swearing-in ceremony at 4 p.m. in Presiding Judge Barbara Johnson’s courtroom on the fourth floor of the courthouse.

Gonzales, Battle Ground’s municipal court judge, will succeed Edwin Poyfair, who is retiring April 30. Gonzales was chosen by Gov. Chris Gregoire from among four other applicants. He will have to run in this year’s election to keep the seat.
