BEND, Ore. (AP) — A body was recovered Sunday afternoon from the Deschutes River near downtown Bend.

It had been spotted by a kayaker, as temperatures climbed into the 80s on the warmest day of the year so far.

KTVZ reports (http://is.gd/hmUkWd ) the body was recovered by a Bend Fire Department boat and Deschutes County sheriff’s divers in the cold, swift-running river.

Police say they have a tentative identity for the person and are waiting to confirm it.
