Troy Stewart’s April 17 letter, “Not all on food stamps are destitute,” about the lady in the grocery line with an iPhone, and manicured nails could have been about me.
What Stewart needs to understand is that everything is not as it appears. As the legal guardian for an 82-year-old gentleman with health issues, I purchase foods required to meet his special diet, which does not include doughnuts or soda. So before you throw stones at people, educate yourself.
There are guardians, caregivers and legal representatives who care for those who cannot care for themselves, which includes grocery shopping.
