Two teenage boys crashed while skateboarding down an east Vancouver hill Monday night and were rushed to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center.

One was taken to the hospital with a head injury, the other with a suspected head injury, said Capt. Kevin Murray, a Vancouver Fire Department spokesman. “They had no safety equipment at all,” Murray said. “It’s a sad situation.”

The boys are 14 and 15; their names were not released because of medical privacy laws.

The incident occurred at about 8 p.m. along Southeast 177th Avenue, south of the intersection with First Street.
