Letter: Abuse of privileges at all levels

The Columbian
Published: April 24, 2012, 5:00pm

The Government Services Administration federal employees associated with recent misconduct were only following the lead of former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., who had a military jet fly her and guests to and from San Francisco and Washington, D.C.

Speaker Pelosi charged food and drinks to the taxpayers on the flights, which over the course of two years was in excess of $101,000. (Documents obtained under the Freedom of Information Act by Judicial Watch and reported at businessinsider.com — http://read.bi/9KLDwq).

Then we have our local state representatives and senators who claim per diem stipends beyond the regular legislative session.

Ho, hum. Taxpayers have deep pockets — that is, those of us who pay taxes.
