CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. (AP) — Florida goaltender Jose Theodore did an on-ice workout Wednesday and is hoping to play when the Panthers host the New Jersey Devils in Game 7 of their Eastern Conference first-round series.
Theodore missed Florida’s Game 6 overtime loss in New Jersey on Tuesday night with an unspecified injury.
Panthers coach Kevin Dineen says it’s “encouraging” that Theodore was able to be on the ice. A few Florida players skated in the workout, which was optional. No decision on whether Theodore or Scott Clemmensen will start is expected until at least after the Panthers hold their morning skate prior to Game 7 on Thursday.
The Devils say their preparation for Game 7 will be the same whether it’s Theodore or Clemmensen in the opposing net.
