KENT, Wash. (AP) — Police say the car theft suspect wounded by an officer in Kent had two outstanding felony arrest warrants for possessing stolen vehicles.

The 35-year-old man was reported in stable condition at a Seattle hospital after Tuesday’s shooting.

Federal Way police, who are investigating, say the Kent officer shot the suspect in an apartment parking lot as he drove off. The suspect hit another vehicle before crashing at an industrial park about two miles away.
