INGLEWOOD, Calif. (AP) — Betfair Hollywood Park will rename a stakes race in honor of former track executive Marje Everett, who died in March at 90.

The $150,000 Milady Handicap, a fixture at the spring-summer meet, will be renamed the Marjorie L. Everett Handicap to be run on May 19. The Grade 2, 1 1-16-mile race is for fillies and mares, and its past winners include superstar mare Zenyatta.

Everett served on the track’s board of directors from 1972-91 and as chairwoman, CEO and president of the track from 1985-91. A gathering will be held after the last race to remember Everett.
