Lawmakers to discuss building industry rules

Southwest Washington lawmakers will talk with members of the Building Industry Group during a luncheon beginning at noon Friday at Club Green Meadows, 7703 N.E. 72nd Ave. in Vancouver. The event is open to the public.

The forum will be moderated by Schwabe Williamson & Wyatt attorney Brad Andersen, and topics will include stormwater rules and Labor & Industry costs that affect the building industry. The Building Industry Group is a political action committee for the Building Industry Association of Clark County.

Lawmakers expected to attend are: state Reps. Paul Harris, R-Vancouver; Jim Moeller, D-Vancouver; Ed Orcutt, R-Kalama; Tim Probst, D-Vancouver; Ann Rivers, R-La Center; and Sharon Wylie, D-Vancouver; and state Sens. Don Benton, R-Vancouver; and Joseph Zarelli, R-Ridgefield.

Those interested in attending the luncheon must pay $30 at the door, or they can pay $25 while registering ahead of time at Building Industry Association. Doors to the one-hour event open at 11:30 a.m.
