LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) — The Chicago Bears selected tight end Evan Rodriguez of Temple in the fourth round of the NFL draft on Saturday.

Rodriguez, a 6-foot-1, 244-pounder, started his career at West Virginia. He had a felony assault charge reduced to a misdemeanor disturbance and trespassing charge after an alleged physical altercation with a female residence hall adviser. After transferring to Temple in 2008, he was arrested for disorderly conduct in April of 2009 and in 2010 sat out a game for breaking an unspecified team rule.

Rodriguez is regarded as more of an H-back and was productive as a receiver with 69 catches for 873 yards and six TDs at Temple.
