IRVING, Texas (AP) — The Dallas Cowboys have finally taken an offensive player in the draft, selecting Virginia Tech receiver Danny Coale 152nd overall in the fifth round.
Coale had 60 catches for 904 yards and three touchdowns last season for Virginia Tech.
That was Dallas’ third pick Saturday, and its fifth in the draft.
For the first time since 1982, the Cowboys have used their first four picks on defensive players.
In the fourth round earlier Saturday, they took Wake Forest outside linebacker Kyle Wilber 113th overall and Eastern Washington safety Matt Johnson 135th overall.
On the first two days of the draft, the Cowboys used their only picks to get LSU All-American cornerback Morris Claiborne sixth overall and Boise State defensive end Tyrone Crawford 81st overall in the third round.
