OWINGS MILLS, Md. (AP) — The Baltimore Ravens have selected cornerback Asa Jackson in the fifth round of the NFL draft.
The 5-foot-10, 191-pound Jackson was a four-year starter at Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo. He won’t be an immediate starter with the Ravens but has the speed to be an instant contributor on special teams.
Jackson was chosen 169th overall with one of Baltimore’s two compensatory picks, the first of which was used to take free safety Christian Thompson in the fourth round.
The Ravens originally had two fifth-round picks, but they traded one of them to Atlanta to move up in the third round to take running back Bernard Pierce.
