FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. (AP) — The Atlanta Falcons have chosen Wisconsin fullback Bradie Ewing in the fifth round of the NFL draft.

Ewing was a Wisconsin teammate of Peter Konz, an offensive lineman drafted by Atlanta in the second round Friday.

The Falcons could decide to release former Pro Bowl fullback Ovie Mughelli in a cost-cutting move. Mughelli’s salary counts $3.7 million against the NFL salary cap.

Wisconsin coaches chose Ewing as the team’s top special teams player last season.

Mughelli, a nine-year veteran who played the last five seasons with Atlanta, contributed on most of the Falcons’ special teams. A right knee injury ended his 2012 season following a Week 7 win at Detroit.

Atlanta began Saturday with four picks, two in the fifth round, one in the six and one in the seventh.
