EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — Skeletal remains of a man missing for almost two years have been found near the Short Mountain Landfill in Lane County.

The Register-Guard reports (http://is.gd/yMRjM3 ) that county authorities identified the man this week as 56-year-old Gene Allen Kimmel of Creswell.

His death has been ruled a suicide.

The sheriff’s department says Kimmel had been reported missing in 2010 after he wasn’t seen for several days.
