LACEY, Wash. (AP) — Neighbors heard a gunshot, but no one saw what happened Saturday night when a 24-year-old man was fatally shot outside his home in Lacey.

A broken baseball bat in the street indicates he may have been involved in a fight.

Lt. Phil Comstock told The Olympian (http://is.gd/XPscrc ) investigators don’t believe the shooting was random, but they haven’t released a motive or suspect.

The wounded man staggered to the front door of his home where he was found by family members. He was taken to an Olympia hospital where he was pronounced dead.
