AMSTERDAM (AP) — Veteran Dutch coach Dick Advocaat says he will return to PSV Eindhoven as coach next season.

Advocaat, who will coach Russia at the European Championship, said in an interview with Voetbal International that he expects to sign a one-year contract this week.

“We’ve already agreed verbally, but we have to set it on paper,” said in the magazine on Tuesday. “I want us to compete for prizes.”

PSV is a distant third in the Eredivisie this season, with Ajax likely to clinch the title this week.

Advocaat coached PSV in the mid-1990s, and later headed the Netherlands and South Korea, among other national teams.

Phillip Cocu has been acting coach at PSV since Fred Rutten was fired in March.
