LONDON (AP) — Mexico’s Mariana Avitia won the bronze medal Thursday in the women’s individual archery at the Olympics, denying American Khatuna Lorig a second medal 20 years after her first.

Avitia won six sets to two in the third-place match at Lord’s cricket ground.

Both women lost their semifinal matches earlier in the day.

The No. 2-ranked Ki Bo-bae of South Korea and another Mexican, Aida Roman, were in the final later Thursday.

Lorig was trying to win her first Olympic medal since her bronze in the team event at the 1992 Barcelona Games. She is at her fifth Olympics.
