CINCINNATI (AP) — Pittsburgh manager Clint Hurdle has been ejected in the second inning against Cincinnati after both benches were warned following the second Pirates batter to be hit by a pitch in two nights.

Pitching with a 2-1 lead Saturday night, Reds starter Mike Leake plunked Josh Harrison with two outs and nobody on base. Harrison and Leake had a brief verbal altercation, prompting plate umpire Brian Gorman to warn both benches. Hurdle came out to discuss the decision and was ejected when the talk grew more heated.

Reds closer Aroldis Chapman hit Pittsburgh star Andrew McCutchen with two outs, nobody on and Cincinnati leading 3-0 Friday night, leaving many Pirates angry.

Hurdle has been ejected three times this season.
