SAN DIEGO (AP) — Green Bay starting linebacker Desmond Bishop limped off the field after injuring his right leg in the Packers’ preseason opener against the San Diego Chargers.
Bishop was injured midway through the first quarter when a group of players fell on his right leg while he was finishing a tackle. He lay on the field for several minutes while trainers attended him and was unable to put any weight on his leg as he hobbled toward the sideline.
Trainers worked on Bishop behind the Packers’ bench before wheeling him off to the locker room on a cart.
The Packers have been beset by injuries early in fall camp, entering Thursday’s game with more than a dozen players out.
