ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Reliever Mark Lowe has been activated from the disabled list by the Texas Rangers.
Texas made the move before Friday night’s series opener against Detroit. Infielder Alberto Gonzalez was designated for assignment.
Lowe had been out since June 26 because of a strained muscle in his right side. His last appearance was three scoreless innings in relief against the Tigers on June 25, the opener of the last series Detroit played in Texas.
The right-hander had a 2.30 ERA over 31 1-3 innings in 26 relief appearances before going on the 15-day DL.
