LONDON (AP) — U.S. Olympic leaders and their athletes are having such a great time at the Olympics in London, they’d like to host a party like this, too, someday soon.

At Saturday’s U.S. Olympic Committee news conference, chairman Larry Probst said, “We think the games need to come to America, and the sooner, the better.”

When the team returns home, the USOC will put together an exploratory committee to decide whether it should bid for a Summer Olympics in 2024 or a Winter Games in 2026. The United States hasn’t hosted the Olympics since the 2002 Games in Salt Lake City.
