MUNICH (AP) — Bayern Munich beat Borussia Dortmund 2-1 in the German Supercup on Sunday, ending a run of five consecutive losses to the league and cup champion.

Mario Mandzukic opened the scoring in the sixth minute and helped Bayern extend its lead five minutes later when he found Arjen Robben. The Dutchman’s effort hit the post, but Thomas Mueller converted the rebound.

Robert Lewandowski pulled one back for Dortmund with 15 minutes remaining to set up an exciting finish.

But Bayern held out for its first win over Dortmund since a 3-1 victory Feb. 13, 2010, and its first title since the same year — also the Supercup, Germany’s traditional season opener.
