The number of Clark County homes in foreclosure declined 8 percent from June to July, and also dropped more than 38 percent from July 2011, RealtyTrac recently reported.

According to the California-based foreclosure data firm, 206 houses were in some stage of foreclosure countywide last month. The total was down for the fifth month in a row and Clark County’s foreclosure rate in July was the seventh-highest of the state’s 39 counties, down from fourth-highest in June.

Nationwide, July’s foreclosures decreased 3 percent from the previous month and were down 10 percent from July 2011. One in every 686 U.S. housing units had a foreclosure filing during the month of July. In Clark County, foreclosure affected one out of every 813 houses.

Last month, one out of every 814 homes were affected by foreclosure in Washington, which ranked 13th-highest for its rate of foreclosure out of 50 states. Oregon ranked 35th-highest, with one out of every 1,744 homes in foreclosure.
