LONDON (AP) — Organizers say the Paralympic torch relay will begin with Scouts lighting flames atop the highest peaks in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Groups of disabled and able-bodied Scouts will strike fire-starting rods on Scafell Pike in England, Snowdon in Wales, Ben Nevis in Scotland and Slieve Donard in Northern Ireland on Aug. 22.

The flames will travel to London, Belfast, Edinburgh and Cardiff before heading to southern England’s Stoke Mandeville, spiritual home of the Paralympic movement, where they will be united in a ceremony on Aug. 28.

A team of 580 torchbearers will carry the flame 92 miles (150 kilometers) to London’s Olympic Stadium for the Aug. 29 opening ceremony.

The relay will pass landmarks including London Zoo and the Abbey Road street crossing made famous by The Beatles.
