Hessonite wins $150,000 Yaddo Stakes at Saratoga

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (AP) — Hessonite swept past the leaders at midstretch and drew away to a 1 1/2-length victory in the $150,000 Yaddo Stakes for fillies and mares bred in New York on Friday at Saratoga Race Course.

Ramon Dominguez rode the 4-year-old, who ran 1 1/16 miles over the turf course in 1:43.44 for her second win of the year, both at Saratoga. Trained by David Donk, she earned $90,000 for owners William Punk and Phillip Di Leo.

Hessonite paid $4.60, $3.40 and $2.40. Runner-up Mystic City paid $11.40 and $8.60 and Elusive Rumour, third of seven, returned $5.50 to show.
