New faces, but old issues facing Miami in 2012

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) — Miami lost its quarterback, running back, two top receivers and best defensive player. A slew of underclassmen left early as well.

Somehow, optimism is still present in Hurricanes camp.

Even after a 6-6 season, and even with the NCAA investigation into compliance practices that overshadowed last season still unresolved, the Hurricanes are heading into Al Golden’s second year on the sideline insisting they have enough talent to contend in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Most don’t agree. The Hurricanes were picked to finish fifth in the ACC’s six-team Coastal Division.
