The Health Professions Quality Assurance office of the state Department of Health recently took disciplinary actions or has withdrawn charges against these Clark County health care providers.
In June, the Nursing Assistant Program charged certified nursing assistant Jennifer Dawn McCann with unprofessional conduct. McCann allegedly diverted controlled substances from more than three patients for her own use. The Department of Social and Health Services issued a finding that McCann neglected and financially exploited a vulnerable adult.
In April, the Pharmacy Board ended the probation order against pharmacist Jasmine T. Nguyen.
In May, the Nursing Commission charged Karla Bouvette with unprofessional conduct. Bouvette allegedly failed to comply with a previous stipulation.
In June, the Massage Program entered into an agreed order with Douglas L. Black and placed his credential on probation for three years.
In June, the Nursing Assistant Program charged registered nursing assistant Rebecca Ann Faye Melcher with unprofessional conduct. Melcher allegedly tested positive for marijuana during a workplace drug scree.
In July, the Department of Health issued a notice of intent to issue a cease and desist order to Benjamin Jeanotte for providing massage services without a license.
In July, the Nursing Commission suspended the credential of registered nurse Linda C. Weinzimmer-Kirk after she failed to respond to charges that she submitted false records of providing home care services when she did not provide the services.
In July, the Department of Health issued an intent to issue a cease and desist order to Douglas K. Dobberfuhl. Previously Dobberfuhl applied for a Washington counseling credential but was denied because he had surrendered his counseling credential in Wisconsin following charges of inappropriate sexual conduct with a client. In 2011, Dobberfuhl provided counseling services in Washington without a license.
In July, the Department of Health suspended the credential of certified nursing assistant Jennifer Dawn McCann for at least five years. McCann diverted patient medications for her personal use.
