Questing wins Alabama Stakes at Saratoga

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (AP) — Questing posted an impressive nine-length victory in the 132nd running of the $600,000 Alabama Stakes for 3-year-old fillies on Saturday at Saratoga Race Course.

Irad Ortiz Jr. rode the Kiaran McLaughlin-trained filly, who went to the lead at the break and was never challenged while running 114 miles in 2 minutes, 1.2 seconds. She earned $360,000 in her third consecutive win for Godolphin Stable and second at Saratoga, where she won the Coaching Club American Oaks in July.

Questing paid $6.40, $4.40 and $3.50. In Lingerie returned $5.60 and $4. Via Villaggio, third of seven, paid $5.70 to show.

Also Saturday, Point of Entry, ridden by John Velazquez, pulled away for a four-length victory in the $600,000 Sword Dancer Invitational.
