LINZ, Austria (AP) — Shot putter Cory Martin won the Gugl Games with a mark of 69 feet, 11 inches Sunday to lead a U.S. sweep of the top three spots.
World indoor champion Ryan Whiting was second at 68-4 1/4, and Christian Cantwell third at 66-3 3/4.
The event in the city center of Linz opened the European Athletics meet, with all remaining disciplines to be competed at Linzer Stadium on Monday.
