Olympic champions Sanchez, James win in Austria

LINZ, Austria (AP) — Olympic champion Felix Sanchez of the Dominican Republic won the 400-meter hurdles at the Gugl Games on Monday, three days after he was beaten at the Diamond League meet in Stockholm.

Sanchez finished in 48.13 seconds to defeat Leford Green of Jamaica, who ran a 48.89. Michael Tinsley of the United States, who beat Sanchez on Friday, took third in 49.49.

Kirani James won the 400 meters in his first race since taking gold at the London Games two weeks ago.

The Grenadian sprinter finished in 44.46 seconds to beat second-place Jonathan Borlee of Belgium by 0.64. Calvin Smith of the United States was 0.88 back in third.

Double-amputee runner Oscar Pistorius was sixth in 46.91 seconds.
